Forget Christmas, tis’ always the season to be jolly. Did I say jolly? I meant Bolly because a little bit of Bollywood goes a long way.

Shimmy the night away at Tandoori Palace in Darlinghurst where Bolly and belly get together for a whole lot of crazy behaviour.

But it’s not all about shaking your booty, there’s singing too because let’s face it, what’s a party without it? Have your 15 minutes of fame, or shame, when you get on stage for Curry-oke.

But before the party gets into full swing you’ve got to eat and let me tell you the food here is bolly delicious. Try the chicken tikka which is marinated and smoke-roasted in the tandoori oven; the eggplant pakoras, that’s eggplant dipped in flour then deep fried in a light batter; or share the vegetarian delight with samosas, onion bhajee [deep fried onion with spices] and aloo chop [spicy potatoes].

For main meals the ginger mint octopus is tender and tangy; the palace duck roll is quackingly tasty; or the garlic calamari could be more your style.
And if you’re still hungry there’s a big serve of lamb shanks; orange masala duck with basmati rice; or go all out and dive into a banquet.

When they say banquet, they’re not kidding around. You get three different curries – chicken, lamb and beef plus veggies, naan and all the stuff to put on top. And it comes with a show that’ll knock your socks off.

If you like to party and you love a good feed the Tandoori Palace is the place for you and trust me, when you come out of here you’ll be well & truly party pooped.
